Job Title: Boat Rigging Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Boat Rigging Technician to join our team.
The Boat Rigging Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining rigging systems on a variety of boats. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fishing/boating and a thorough understanding of rigging techniques and equipment. However, training will be provided and a candidate with limited experience will be considered depending upon their knowledge, aptitude, and attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain rigging systems on boats according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot rigging issues, including wear and tear, corrosion, and structural damage.
  • Collaborate with boat owners to determine rigging needs and preferences.
  • Select appropriate rigging materials and equipment based on boat specifications, weight distribution, and intended use.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including wrenches, drills, and crimping tools, safely and effectively.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on boats and in marine environments.
  • Document work performed, including repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks, accurately and comprehensively.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other team members as needed.
  • Stay informed about advancements in rigging technology, materials, and
    techniques through training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in marine mechanics, rigging, or a related field a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in rigging work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and technical specifications accurately.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces, including bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to boat rigging and marine operations.
  • A passion for fishing/boating and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with a variety of boat types.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and boat plans.
  • Basic electrical knowledge for connecting rigging components to onboard systems.
